The heart of EBT meditation

The pericope in SN 46.3 is the most important set of meditation instructions in the EBT. Every meditation method taught uses this as the framework. It works as a causal sequence, and also as independent factors in the four jhānas. The 4 jhānas have 7☀️ factors. Not 5.

You definitely want to memorize the synopsis, and reflect on it many times a day. By auspicious coincidence, it takes 37 seconds to chant in pāli. 🔗🔊 If you reflect on it frequently and understand it, you'll be able to connect all the dots on how samādhi and jhānas work. If you don't fully penetrate this pericope, you'll be easily confused by the various wrong views on samādhi being promoted.
